Laura Basil Duncan is an award winning filmmaker and creative researcher focusing on radical culture, extreme sports and impactful narratives. 

Her documentary 'Tether' is currently on the film festival circuit. It won the Grand Jury Prize at the Skate and Surf Film Festival Milano and also won Best Short Film at the Paris Surf and Skate Film Festival 2024.

Laura's debut short documentary 'Rebirth'  won the Impactful Story Award and Audience Award at the Portuguese Surf Film Festival, and screened across the globe, including Kendal Mountain and London Surf Film Festivals. 

Laura spent years working as a director’s assistant alongside director Sasha Rainbow on the 'Kamali' documentary about a single Indian woman’s fight for her daughter’s empowerment through skateboarding. 'Kamali' was nominated for Best British Short Film at the BAFTA Awards and long-listed for an Oscar in 2020.
